  3. My goodness, that is one spectacular woman! And what a setting for the wonderful neckpiece/collar.
She certainly has blended her African heritage in this outfit.

    1. The more I look at this dress, the more I feel that it is very appropriate. It isn't full of sparkles and foo-fraw, just beautifully constructed and regally worn, covering most of her body. The neckpiece is reminiscent of the beaded 'capelets' worn when the Danish royals visited Greenland. It would be interesting to see more of that kind of thing worn in Europe and North America.

  4. It is a lovely dress - I would never have thought of wearing it to a sporting event!

  5. I like the dress very much - the draping and colour are lovely and she carries herself so beautifully. I like the intricate South African collar/choker as well. The only thing is that I find it a very strange outfit for an athletics meet.

    2. Well, María knows better than me what she meant but I'm guessing she's not referring to sleepwear but rather to the fact that it's more a dress for a cocktail party than a sports meet.

And she doesn't say that she doesn't look fabulous... I agree - she looks amazing but I personally find it a bit OTT for the event. Each to their own.

  8. oh elle est magnifique, en plus elle fait honneur à son pays d'origine en arborant un superbe collier Africain, j'adore aussi sa robe qu'elle porte divinement, elle a vraiment l'allure du reine.

  10. Wow! What a great way to wear the southafrican ethnic collar. Great posture, great attitude, a queenly appearance. (Wrong place for the dress though.)

  11. Great dress worne by a beautiful lady, but white shoes rarely look good unless it is in combination with a wedding-dress. The collier - wow!

  12. Love the dress and the collar! The shoes not so much, she should have worn a strappy heel instead of the white closed ones , kinda ruins the overall look.

  13. She has proved herself an Olympic class swimmer, but she also seems born to royalty.

  14. Maybe the dress is a bit too much for that event. But after all she is a Princess and people always expect a Princess to look special. Only someone with her carriage and aplomb can carry such a magnificient dress and combined with the South African jewellery made her look really and truly divine.

  17. Love the dress - African related theme (WOW)!Not suitable to the evenet! Why white shoes with that!?? Something's weird with her face... too many PS or botox!? I'm sorry but she's still young but seems older than she really is!
