  1. Catherine looks lovely, red is good color to Stephanie but iot would be better two inches longer and with less fringes, nice shoes, she has such a pretty legs. Stephanie has nice up-doe and much better hair here than Catherine.

  4. I like Catherine's coat and that is all. I never thought I would see the day when Stephanie was better put together overall than Catherine. Stephanie's hair is especially well done and she looks good in red. Very pretty dress.

    2. You took the words right out of my mouth. Stephanie looks amazing and IMO better than Catherine. Stephanie has a lovely figure, it just takes the right outfit to show it off. I can't find a thing wrong with her look today. Just gorgeous.

  5. Both look boring. How many of these coat dresses does Catherine own? Red is a good colour for Stephanie but I dislike those ruffles (please let the 80s rest in peace forever) and the brown shoes are a poor match. A light gray would have been so much better.

Why is all the press and blogs getting Stephanie's title wrong today.
Especially on here the admin has never called her a crown princess.

  12. Catherine is getting very boring always pushing her hair out of her face. Not crazy about Stephanie's dress but red looks good on her, and she is making progress overall in make-up, hair and dress style.

    1. Lizzie, sometimes I think "Kate" is really shy and under a huge pressure. Don't know why. We are not insiders. With her hair, that is just a habit. (I wish I had her hair, really :)
Well, the colours are nice on both of them, but the tailored style of the dress-coats are more neglige- or bathroom -like?? Looks like they had really a nice time together.

    3. Rainha leonor that is not a good color for Kate. It makes her skin look faded.. she looks better in bright colors

  13. I had such high hopes for Stephanie. She had been having wearing some great outfits.
I don't particularly like this dress, I think the ruffles are too fussy. The color looks good on her and her hair and makeup are perfect.
So I'll give her an 8/10.

Kate, once again boring coat dress, nude heels. Hair always the same. Poor posture and crotch clutching.

  14. Duchess Catherine looks very stylish and chic. The full skirt of the dress coat is beautiful and she is the only royal lady that can wear this type of tailored dress coat. The Duchess has the length and figure for the style. The Grand Duchess Stephanie looks also very elegant and chic. I love the way Grand Duchess styled her hair, but I also like the way the Duchess styled her hair. Both styles suite each one of the Royal Ladies to perfection. Two very intelligent Royal ladies together.

  15. They both look good! I'm glad Stephanie upped her game (especially the colour) as Catherine would be expected to look elegant.
    Stephanie's hair looks lovely.

  17. Wow Stephanie. I think Stephanie hired a good stylist. Her recent looks are beautiful. Nice hairdo. I like Catherine's coat color. It's pleasant but its again boring to see her pulling hair. She should update in style

    1. Agree, during last week or so Stephanie has had no failures and everything seems to fit better, be better colors etc. This dress, just two or three inches and it would be perfect length to make her legs sing. What is also common with the last week pictures, her hair has been done well.

    2. And to clear the stylist comment, I think most of these ladies have one. Kust look at pictures of Mary at the early years, she dressed very badly. But the stylist or personal education of the subject helped and she is so chic and well groomed today. There is also story that Mary offered her stylist some years ago to Mette Marit, do not know if she went to it or not.

  18. It's refreshing to see Stephanie venture away from the normal ensemble and try something new, and frivolous ! Red is a good colour on her. Plus hair and make-up beautifully done.
Love the colour of Catherine's coat, would have preferred matching shoes, and a splash of the blue in the clutch, but other than that, she looks lovely. Her trademark locks, on display, gorgeous !
There seems to have been a warm welcome for Catherine, with some lovely images of Stephanie and Catherine interacting.

  20. Red is a good color on Stephanie, but those ruffles are horrible. The dress would have been much better if it was uncluttered with those huge ruffles. The color itself would have been enough to be a huge plus for Stephanie. The skirt has a bottom ruffle and the sleeves too so why that huge ruffle down the front? Catherine is starting to wear the same thing just different colors sort of like her uniform for events. She will either wear a coat dress or a slim suit with a straight skirt and short jacket to the waist. I would love to see her branch out in her fashion choices and designers! She also needs to learn that in these official events she needs to pin back her hair so it doesn't fall into her face so she has to fiddle with it. But I do suspect she lets it hang around her face to give her something to do with her hands (when they are not held in front of her as a protective shield). I think Catherine is actually shy and not confident at these solo events. She stoops with rounded shoulders trying to fold into herself and she has her hands in front of her to complete the protective space around her because she is uncomfortable in the situation. She then has her hair to play with to give her something to do and also to call attention to her greatest asset that shiny, bouncy hair which gives her confidence. I do wish she would work on her posture. She needs to take tips from Queen Letizia of Spain. That woman has correct posture and confidence in meeting people.

    1. I agree with much of what you say about the front clutching as a nervous and protective habit. I have some sympathy for Catherine's apparent nervousness. But there ought to have been a bit more progress by now. Letizia does have perfect posture, as does Victoria of Sweden. Even relative newcomer, Sofia of Sweden, has good posture. Well, I'm sure greeting crowds of strangers is not always easy. But I think a more poised stance might alleviate some nervousness for Catherine and actually help her feel better.

  22. I like the colour of Catherine's coatdress very much but the style is quite safe and unexciting (which I think she does deliberately because she doesn't want the clothes to overshadow the event). Her accessories are the same old, same old and yet again she's fiddling with her, admittedly glorious, hair - yes, I went there... Agree her posture leaves a bit to be desired.

Stephanie looks lovely in red, I like the slightly longer back to the skirt part, have no problem with the dust ruffle part and like her hairstyle.

Alexandra looks quite chic in the black trousers and ivory boxy jacket.

  23. I think they both look lovely. I like the coatdresses. They are very functional for such events. The blue is gorgeous and Kate looks great in blue. Not to mention that blue is a color in the Luxembourg flag. You cannot see them well here but her earrings are fabulous! I adore blue topaz (birthstone anyway :) ). Neutral shoes and bag go well. Kate is always elegant but conservative. I would rather see her like this than dressed like a hooker in churcb w short dresses and headlights ala someone we saw in Norway. This is not an event to be flashy. I also think Kate tends to be cold natured and a coatdress provides warmth. Plus not dealing w a coat while out and about.

I think Stephanie looks nice. I am not a big ruffle person but she again amped up her look. They both looked at ease w each other and it must be nice for two women 'waiting in the wings and around same ages' to chat.

As to her hair and a comment of it being unhygenic? You are kidding? Should we shave our heads? Your hair can be up in a chignon and if you touch or have an itch it is the same thing > you touch your hair or head. Ridiculous comment. Obviously her hair is clean and much cleaner than all the hands she has to shake..... smh @ anon 7.29

But a "certainly very hard time"?? I mean, common', many people do have "scary" scars from childhood accidents, right?-
Nethertheless, I do have no problem with her or her hair. I wish I had beautiful thick hair like she has. And about work today? Get a grip, I- and most of us- can tell you what real hard work is!! The Ladies are well supported... They celebrated 2 days in row...

Treaty of Luxemburg is important from Europen Union model association. It was here where the useful of Zollverein or Germany Commerce association was confirmed. The independence of Luxemburg like sovereign state began to realizing when Luxemburg leaved to be personal property of Netherland King passing to be part of Low Countries. Most important, Luxemburg is a sample of how a country from militar character was transformed into a pacefull "neutral land" by a group allies nations consensus looking to the future, begining with dismantling of all militar fortress and militar batteries and transforming of luxemburg in a productive land. A good policy and diplomatic achievement from a group of nations that would transform in European Union.

  27. I think they both look very beautiful and elegant. I think Catherine's coat dress is a perfect outfit for a cool spring day. Very elegant and not at all boring. I would not like to see her making a visit like this in a flamboyant outfit.as Vogue Magazine said, it was " quiet elegance and polished sophistication " I totally agree. I don't see anything wrong with Stephanie's ruffles. It's fun for a change. I don't see anything wrong with her wearing her dress a bit short. She's young and has lovely legs. Good for the two of them. Great post!

  28. I think Stephanie looks fabulous and very on trend with the red and ruffles, it's a major improvement.

  29. Has Stephanie hired a stylist? Recently her style has improved quite a lot. This red piece looks really great on her and it shows off very nice pair of legs that has been stayed well hidden with those wide trousers she loved to wear. Also very nice hairdo for her. Anyway very good and fresh appearance from Stehapnie!
Catherine looks also lovely and elegant.

  30. Wow! Stephanie has blossomed! She looks stunning! She has cast a shadow over Kate too. I think Stephanie looks gorgeous in red and while I am not normally a fan of frills, I think this outfit is lovely and that Stephanie looks beautiful, she is glowing.

Her hair and makeup are perfect. The only fault, if I can call it a fault is the colour of her shoes, I would have preferred a lighter colour, a "nude" shoe, but that is simply a matter of taste, so it really isn't a fault at all.

I think it is interesting too how Stephanie, who often appears plump when photographed alone or with her husband looks quite slender and healthy when standing next to the reed thin Catherine/Kate. I think Stephanie might be someone who doesn't photograph well.

Years and years ago I attended a State Reception for the Prince and Princess of Wales. I had always admired the Princess of Wales and thought her incredibly beautiful, to my amazement and to this very day I have never seen a photo that captured how really beautiful she was. How fine her skin, how beautiful her eyes, or even how glorious her hair was. Film never fully encompassed her beauty, unfortunately you had to see her to really truly see how beautiful she really was, but then this is only my opinion.

    1. All good points it's me and I agree about Stephanie. I almost commented on her actually being so much different looking. As if she hides behind some clothes? But feel the need to have some restraint to avoid being scolded. Oy

I have read where other ppl have said that exact thing about Princess Diana. She was beautiful. Still makes me terribly sad ~ nearly 20 yrs now gone. Seems like yesterday.

  31. Diane, thats's the same for me and so true. I bet that most of us remember the day and hour when we heard about Diana's accident. There are a few events in life which stay in your mind forever. And although we did not know Diana, this has been one of "those" minutes where time stood still, right?

  32. Both look good - Kate is gorgeous as allways, Stephanie looks surprisingly beautiful too; the only thing I would change at their outfit are shoes - Kate should put on shoes in some blue shade and Stephanie gray or maybe even red ones. They seem to find good connection between each other.

  33. Duchess Catherine shy? Not even close when you study all the YT recordings of the visit to Luxembourg. The Duchess was sophisticated, in control, confident and totally enjoying the visit. The interaction with the Grand Duchess was priceless. Two Royal ladies enjoying each other company. You can actually feel the warmth and energy between the two Royal ladies. If you don't touch your hair once during a day sorry then you are abnormal and lying through your teeth!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't think she's shy but I suspect in the early days she was nervous and the hair touching has become one of her habits.

Nobody has claimed they never touch their hair but every time she attends an event when her hair (which is beautiful) is loose there is at least one photo of her fiddling with it.

Is it an enormous fault? No, of course not but I do notice it and I do find it a little distracting. If I were the knot person who said something then I would accept that it's just me, however, it's a common remark from observers. so I deduce that it's quite a noticeable habit.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I also think there is much said about her hair and the photographers tend to take pictures of her fiddling w the hair. Thing is I also fiddle w my hair when it blows in my face. Normal for most. But I think nervous habit for Kate early on.
