Crown Princess Mary made a working visit to Bangladesh

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visited Bangladesh together with Minister for Development Cooperation, Ulla Pedersen Tørnæs. The purpose of that visit was to determine what economic opportunities are present for the women in the region and to try to strengthen those opportunities and to make the region a part of the number five global target on unequality. The visit has been kept confidential for safety reasons.

    That's a very ambitious agenda for the visit! I wonder if these trips actually achieve anything besides making the participants briefly feel good.

  2. I also reacted to that agenda. I wonder if royal participation will help in any way whatsoever when the goal is to primarily "determine" existing conditions. Wouldn´t a local authority be in much better position to do that? I think that royal participation is good for two things: ceremonial representation and bringing focus to things neglected by the media. Since this trip obviously had no ceremonial value to it, and obviously also wasn´t the focus of any media converage (due to it being kept confidential), what was is good for?

  3. Kronprinzessin Mary sieht wieder toll aus. Ich bewundere immer ihr Gespür für Proportionen. Schöne Outfits für diesen Besuch. Chino und weiße (Leinen?)Bluse, ein Klassiker, der immer geht und allen Frauen steht. Die weite Hose mit der altrosa Bluse ist ein bisschen schicker, aber immer noch bequem und dem Klima und Anlass entsprechend. Tja, ich kann nur mal wieder sagen, Mary sieht super aus. Sie ist für mich ein Quell der Inspiration.

  4. I am disappointed that she is surrounded by men in all these pictures less two. I hope it is for the safety of herself or others that few interactions were captures or released with the CP and womem. I hope she insisted the translater allow her to spend most her time with women on a trip promoting opportunities for women.
