  3. Agree with eloquent comments of both Lizzie and Athena. It really is a pleasure to visit this site.
Would add that I do not understand Maria Olympia's harshly bleached hair and overbite. She is a natural brunette via her pronounced dark roots (nothing wrong with being brunette) and she is more than able to afford orthodontia.

  4. Lizzie she is still a student, at Parsons School of Design. Her maternal grandparents come from wealth and as such she has the means to have more luxury in her life. Her parents both own businesses; her father manages hedge funds and and her mother is a designer of children's clothing (6 boutiques in London and 4 internationally at last count). I would hardly call that resting on laurels or white trash. They are lining their pockets with their own money, they don't get anything from the Greek state.

    1. OK, not white thrash, but the family is SO useless as far as "royals" go. It's been said that Papa Miller bought a title for MC with his millions. So she designs children clothing, nothing wrong with that, after all, she is "royal" and there is snob appeal in buying her childrens' clothes. And grandma Anne-Marie is a princess of Denmark, where they still have a crown. But do they do any good? Not that I know of.... I'm not fond of royals from anywhere but when you look at Belgium, Spain, Britain, Sweden, Norway, Holland, the wives - or in Sweden, Victoria - all work very hard to represent their country, and sit as patrons of charitable foundations. The half-Greek, half Danish do nothing at all. Marie-Chantal is pretentious as all get out, her sister-in-law, Tatiana, seems very nice, much simpler, and is at least partially involved in some good works.

    3. Agreed LarkSpur Blossom!

They are not white trash at all. The parents work for a living. They also have family money. Just because they lost their country doesnt mean they lose their titles that go hundreds of years back. I do not see this family ever taking advantahe of the royal title.

As I have said before I have bought quite a few baby gifts from her Mothers shop.

Lizzie are you the same lizzie on the Duchess of Cambridge and Berks to Buckingham blogs? If so shocked to read this and you saying you are not fond of any of them?

      Why follow at all ?

  7. This post is an example of judging a persons character and is personal attack on this family. Terrible that the child is being bashed because some dislike the parents.

Not fair or nice ladies. This is far different that saying Stephanie needs a stylist.... HELLO! Kind of shocked at the vile comments.

  8. This shade of blond looks too harsh with her coloring and features, beside it add years (I though she's in her 30s).

  9. Quand je voies la famille royale grecque je ne peux m'empêcher de les comparer à Alexandre et Katherine de Serbie qui se démènent en permanence pour leur pays ...

  10. This young lady looked lovely before but this overbleached, overcropped, overflattened hair, the ghostly and overlayered makeup, the stupid (honestly, I have no other adjective) photoface where she leaves her mouth half open, the movie starlet posing are just terrible. Also, both her white outfit at that latest fashion show and the green velvet skirt with that black hooker style top are the ugliest disasters. The porcelain blue dress is pretty though. I have no idea why she tries to look like she was 15 years older, less I understand in this youth obsessed world of ours. Whatever, happy bday to her and let's hope this is just a passing phase.

  11. As for she or her family being 'useless' and her mother 'buying' herself a prince, I'll just copy here what I said before: the greek royals have been dethroned indeed but the family itself never renounced their right to the kingdom. That is, they would go back and fulfill their duties as head of state and perform the very same royal duties other royal families do but Greece as a state currently does not wish them to do that. Saying they are useless as royals just makes no sense at all. It's like saying an olympian who had an injury and is no longer able to compete is useless as an athlete. He may change his everyday occupation and become a car salesman or open a chain of confectionery but he is still entitled to say he is an olympian. I think the correct word you might use is functionless if you so want to label it.
Also, it's true that Marie Chantal's father is a very rich man but she is (and was) pretty and said to be an intelligent woman so I really wouldn't be surprised if her money was just the icing on the cake for the crown prince. They have 5 children, for heaven's sake! I guess you don't marry someone for his title and bear FIVE children without any love! That is so unrealistic.
By the way, Lizzie, I understand it's somehow unconfortable and maybe a bit blatant to see the whole greek royal family appearing here and there at royal gatherings and 'playing the royals'. I do feel the same way sometimes, I even admit to think if it wasn't for the money apported by Marie-Chantal the family would have been a lot less present at royal events, since to continue living as royals in exile is a VERY hard thing (and the crown prince and his siblings weren't always working, they were practically children when they left Greece). But they have a lot of family connections with other royal families and it's really not that they stole their money from anyone. With time, they all will disappear in the growing mass of lesser royalty and... that's all to it :)
