  2. I was in this room today!! At "öppet slott", it is free to see the palace inside this day, we could read about it earlier today, Sofia and Carl Philip opened the doors for us.

  3. They dress up in a different areas costume each year for Sweden's National Day nice to see the ladies keeping the traditions alive. What I'd really like to see is the men dressing up too.

    1. Interesting information, emeraldcity. I didn't know the thing about the different regions. I like to see the ladies in traditional costumes. Perhaps Madeleine shouldn't have combined hers with high heels.

    2. What is the culture/story behind the costumes/culture cloths the women are wearing? Actually very interesting and also ensure the sustainability of one's culture and tradition of your country.

    3. People from Sweden why is Princess Victoria and Queen Silvia wearing similar shoes but Princess Sofia and Madeleine different pair of shoes? Why is Queen Silvia wearing a cap? Due to the weather or because she is the Queen of Sweden?

    4. Anna-Marie Punt I read that Madeline and Sofia just went 'modern' LOL versus a traditional shoe. I am clueless with the hat issue. Maybe she feared a Flying Nun look? Lol (old TV show in the USA.. Sally Field the hat was the winged one)

  5. The dress is nice, love the colors, I don't care about the hat thing, but I agree the men should wear the national costume as well, if there is one?

  6. Great celebrations in Sweden.
So good to see royal ladies in national dresses. Its funny how princess Madeleine insist on wearing high heels. She clearly has rebel heart :D
Don't understand why the men don't follow the tradition and wear national dresses! There are perfectly lovely national costumes for men as well.
