The King and the Queen held an official gala dinner at Swedish Royal Palace

King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia of Sweden held an official gala dinner at Stockholm Royal Palace on February 3. The gala dinner was attended by Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia and representatives of the Parliament, the Government, government agencies, and of organizations of science, sports, business, culture and travel. (Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris could not attend the gala dinner as required by a principle.)

Why anyone should feel sorry for "pauvre Sofia" is ridiculous. She probably doesn't care about having one tiara as you do, especially considering the family spent thousands on a brand new tiara just for her and she probably got to choose it herself! . Besides what do you expect, a brand new princess having multiple diadems?

    2. I am very sure she, as they all, have access to Bernadotte Foundation tiaras. She just seems to like her own tiara.

@Blondiini - the king has control on who wears a tiara from the Bernadotte collection for an event; and when Victoria comes to the throne, she will have a say. Sofia only having access to the smaller pieces and no tiaras makes one wonder about her standing in the royal family.

I have no clue....it is said that Sofias dress has been borrowed from a friend of hers.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous3/2/16 22:13

It's OK to borrow clothes, but at least do something about the length on the dress. It's not that difficult to make the hem shorter for the occasion and take it down after. Looks like she's a little girl who borrowed her mother's dress for a dress up..wonder if her shoes are 5 number to big too ;)

Anonymous 10:31: She borrowed it from a friend. But why you call her "Prince Carl Philips wife"? Firstly; her name is Sofia and then; she is actually a princess. Does not matter what others think about it that she got the title. You do not like it, but accept it.

@Anonymous Feb. 4 @ 4:22 pm - actually, Victoria is a princess for all her life. Sofia is a princess as long as she's Carl Philip's wife.

    6. Anonymous6/2/16 18:58

That is not true. Some day Victoria will be queen. But do u think that Sofia should not have the right to be called princess now? But she IS princess NOW. And you can not decide on the titles so the future has no relevance here.

@Anonymous Feb. 6, 8:58 pm - if there is a divorce the king could decide to strip Sofia of the princess title, or Victoria could, if the divorce happens when she's on the throne. Since the king was the one that gave Sofia the princess title, he - or Victoria - are the ones that can take it away as the authority of the Crown.

  22. It's funny to read all the comments. Either you love Victoria and she cannot do anything wrong and Sofia is coarse and not regal enough. OR. I myself prefer Sofia, but I think Victoria is lovely too.

VICTORIA - I have to say that I did not like the dress the Crown Princess wore at all! It looks too old-fashioned and something maiden aunt would likely wear to her bed. The color looks too bland and the sleeves of unfortunately length. I really like the Baden Fringe Tiara. But that is all I like about this look! **sorry all Victoria fans**.
SOFIA - I like the design of her dress, its such a lovely classic design. The fabric looks too shiny though and the dress was clearly too long for Sofia. That tiara of hers...sorry, but it looks ugly, cheap and something that is very hard to place on your head (or match with certain colors)! Why she can't borrow something else for tiara events??
SILVIA - lady in red. I like her dress and The Connaught Tiara.
    THE KING looks very tanned.

I don't know why but CPss Victoria's dress reminds me of a nightgown and those sleeves make her look huge and homely. But I like her tiara.
Sofia's dress looks beautiful but her tiara...I think that Sofia's small tiara was meant to be worn with a different kind of hairstyle (put hair up, so the tiara would then nestle into the hair). With the way she's wearing her hair, the tiara looks more like a prom tiara, something that was just perched on top of the head. Its not regal, imho.

      http://blogg.tv2.no/kongebloggen/files/2013/06/ste_wedding_of_c_2039872.jpg
This way the tiara would nestle into her hair and look more natural. Right now it looks like something poked on top of her head and its kinda lacks of regality!

I love Sofias dress, simply beautiful, the colour, the style, the shiny material, her body ist beautifully sculptured in her pregnancy. The short sleeves make it look modern and youthful. Absolutely age approbriate.
(and yes it should have been shortened in the front part)
Whereas Victorias dress makes her look older than she is. She has done better.
Why not try another hairstyle? I think a shoulderlong bob like Letizias so she can still wear an updo, would suit her, and would look more modern.

I also like the two shades of red, that the queen wears. The yellowish red of the shawl lifts the blueish red of the robe. Perfect!

Mit "daneben" meine ich, das Ziel verfehlen. In jedweder Art.
