How many people are living below the poverty line in the Netherlands? How about fighting poverty and helping them to have a better quality of life for the people there first.

    1. Anon 22:39,The King and Queen are already helping the poor of The Netherlands. Read up about the charity work of the Dutch royals in their home country, particularly the Oranje Fonds.
On this occasion Queen Maxima is continuing to make use of her area of expertise, which is finance. As a woman born in South America, she does not have a Eurocentric view of the world. We see her act as a global citizen, concerned for humanity, not just for her own community. I only wish more world leaders would think this way...

Her political views are not those of the majority of people. So why is she forcing her views and influencing the rest of us.

Why do you feel the need to slate Mary in praise of another royal? Queen Maxima is the subject of the post and merits praise without a terribly petty comment diminishing the positivity of tone.

Was she doing all these events and conferences when she was Princess or are these new activities part of her Queen duties.

Maxima was already doing this kind of work when she was a Princess. 8,4% of the Dutch people are considered as poor, we have 16 mio inhabitants. 15,1 % of the American people are poor, on a population of 280 mio, and then we haven't talked about South America or Asian countries yet. If you see these figures you'll understand why Maxima travels the world. I am not exactly a Royalist but admire her as a working woman and queen. She has expertise and works hard, she has 2 jobs and taking them both very serious. Not many royals are working as hard as she does.

Mary et non Marie (sa belle sœur !) et Mary n'est QUE princesse héritière...Oui et pourquoi comparer Maxima et Mary toutes deux formidables !

I don´t care to see yet another royal together with Bill Gates. That man is disgusting. As if he cared about financial inclusion. Or any other of his "causes" for that matter.
