Royal Princess Named: Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

The much-anticipated news was emailed to the media at 3.03pm and tweeted on the Kensington Palace Twitter account 2 mins later. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. (As many observers predicted, the name pays tribute to the girl's grandmother, Diana, who was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997)

Beautiful name and I am so happy Prince William and the Duchess were able to honor his beloved mother Diana.
All the best to this young family, may they live happily and privately at their country home.

I have never seen anyone pose so hard with a ring. Kate flaunts that ring when ever a camera is available. She and Bill are sickening. They will use Diana's image, name and legacy all the way to the throne. Sad and sickened. No longer a royal fan.

I noticed that too. Because of the unnatural positioning, it did sort of look like a photo op for the ring, but I wouldn't read too much into it. I think she's in a position where she really doesn't need to ride on Diana's coattails or flaunt anything.

Beautiful name. I´m glad that choose Diana. They honour their Grandmas, the Queen and Mrs Middelton and the very best Prince Charles with Charlotte. Hopefully the Baby-Queen is cheerful and healvy !
