I wish the Duchess of Cambridge would take a leaf out of Crown Princess Mary's and Queen Letizia's style book and update her look to the 21st century and wear pants and pant suits. If a Queen can wear a pant suit surely a Duchess can?

I like both styles: Mary is a completely different type than Kate is. Kate Looks still like a girl, very young, and she can afford to wear in a way "old-fashioned" dresses and styles because ist means a wonderful contrast to her "young appearance"
