Pregnant Duchess of Cambridge withdraws from Malta trip

The Duchess of Cambridge, pregnant with her second baby, has cancelled her first official solo trip to Malta this weekend because she is suffering from extreme morning sickness. 18 September 2014

Clarence House announced today (Thursday) that she was not well enough for the trip following discussions with Prince William and her doctors.
Kate has been suffering hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, for two weeks.
Kate was forced to cancel three engagements after it was announced on April 8 that she was pregnant with the couple's second child.
She was due to go to Malta this weekend for her first solo engagement to represent the Queen at the island's 50th anniversary celebrations of independence from Britain
carrying out 10 engagements in two days, including a boat trip across the Grand Harbour.
The Duke of Cambridge is honoured to represent The Queen on the visit, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of Malta's Independence
